Retrospective 2025: a significant year for the cultural activity of the Revolution Memorial in Timișoara
The year had a special significance, celebrating 35 years of activity, an anniversary marked through the Anniversary Gala of the Revolution Memorial, an event dedicated to memory, art, and gratitude.
The year's programme included theatre performances, book launches, the public debate "1989 – Between Memory and Justice", the concert "We don't die", sport competitions, commemorative pilgrimages, as well as numerous cultural and educational workshops dedicated to preserving the memory of the December 1989 Revolution.
During 2025, the Revolution Memorial was visited by approximately 60,000 people, of whom nearly 20,000 were pupils and students.
At the same time, the Revolution Memorial has received numerous official visits from senior representatives of the diplomatic community, ambassadors, consuls, and other public figures from Romania and abroad, which have provided opportunities to initiate and strengthen institutional partnerships.
The international dimension of our activity has been strengthened by traveling exhibitions organized at the Hungarian National Museum in Budapest, in the Republic of Moldova, as well as locally, in Sânnicolau Mare.
At the same time, collaborations have been developed with prestigious institutions such as West University of Timișoara, universities in Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Greece, France, Slovakia, Germany, Portugal, as well as with Esbjerg Kommune (Denmark), within the framework of shadowing programs, through which international delegations came to learn directly from the experience and good practices of the Revolution Memorial.
The Memorial's activity has enjoyed constant support from the media, reflected in dedicated articles, invitations to cultural shows, and appearances on radio and TV programs, contributing to the increased visibility of our mission.
The year 2025 was a prosperous one, consolidating the role of the Revolution Memorial as a space for remembrance, education, and dialogue.
